South West Water has selected Hydrosave as sole supplier for leak detection services in AMP5. The contract with an initial term of 3 years and possible extensions to 9 years is significant in Hydrosave's development strategy in the UK.
Selected due to it's investment in new technology, innovation and key partnerships Hydrosave now operates contracts nationally, literally from Lands End to John O'Groats. In addition to South West Water important leakage framework customers now include South East Water, Veolia Water Central, Enterprise, Severn Trent Water, Anglian Water and Scottish Water. Specialist projects are also being delivered for Yorkshire Water and United Utilities and several significant consultancies, contractors, industrial customers and technology suppliers.
Knowing the condition of valves is a crucial part of network management and yet the majority of water companies have allowed the systematic testing of these assets to be stripped back during budgets cuts. Hydrosave can now assess the condition of a valve through measuring the torque required to operate. This procedure not only exercises the asset, but also produces a torque curve which can highlight problematic areas and allow for maintenance or risk management. This low cost service forms the basis of a Pre Preventative Maintenance schedule which will create an increase in efficiencies when deploying resources or equipment.
